In January 2024, shortly after his 17th birthday, Adam Bolline, a student at College Station High School, was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. Despite the challenges of his diagnosis, Adam has bravely fought through his cancer battle while striving to maintain a normal teenage life. He continued playing on his school's varsity football team while undergoing treatments. Thankfully, his melanoma was discovered early on his neck by his aunt, a dermatologist, leading to a major surgery to remove the cancer. Unfortunately, tumors had already spread to nearby lymph nodes, and Adam underwent radiation and six months of immunotherapy. However, in September 2024, Adam’s cancer returned to the radiation field in his neck, prompting a new round of treatment with a combination drug therapy aimed at halting further progression of the disease.
During this difficult journey, Adam found strength in the love and support of his community, from prayer warriors to thoughtful gifts, cards, and meals. This outpouring of encouragement deeply moved Adam and his family, inspiring them to turn their pain into purpose. In response, they founded Adam’s Army, a nonprofit aimed at spreading love, hope, and support to other local children and families affected by pediatric cancer. The mission of Adam’s Army is to raise awareness about childhood cancer and melanoma, while providing financial grants to families to help cover the burdensome costs of medical care and related expenses. By focusing on the emotional and physical needs of children and their caregivers, Adam’s Army hopes to alleviate the financial stress that often accompanies cancer treatment.
Adam and his family invite others to join Adam’s Army in spreading hope and support to children facing cancer. Whether through prayer, donations, or volunteer efforts, the goal is to help raise awareness, provide financial assistance to local families, and inspire others through Adam's personal story. The Bolline family is dedicated to turning their challenging experience into a force for good, and they encourage others to be part of this movement to support children battling cancer in their community.
" God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. "
Psalm 46:1-2
